Francis Horne Sr. is a revered Coast Salish master carver with over 50 years of experience. Largely self-taught but influenced by mentors like Chief Simon Charlie, Horne’s work is celebrated worldwide for its precision, from monumental house poles to intricate jewelry. Based in the Fraser Valley, he continues to create works that retell the stories of his ancestors, serving as a spiritual advisor and healer while carrying forward a legacy of cultural pride. His art is a profound reflection of his connection to the land and the enduring strength of Coast Salish traditions.
