Gordon White is a Haida artist from the Masset community on Haida Gwaii. Primarily a carver and jeweler, Gordon is known for his clean execution of traditional Haida formline and his ability to translate complex ancestral stories into functional art. His work often features prominent Haida crests, such as the Raven and Eagle, meticulously rendered in wood, silver, and gold. Gordon is dedicated to the artistic standards established by Haida masters, focusing on the balance and symmetry that define his culture’s visual identity while ensuring these traditions remain vibrant for future generations.
