Darrell Thorne is a Coast Salish artist from the Cowichan Tribes on Vancouver Island. Specializing in wood carving and traditional design, his work reflects the fluid and rounded forms characteristic of the Coast Salish aesthetic. Darrell often draws inspiration from the natural environment and the spiritual teachings passed down through his family. His practice is a respectful continuation of the carvings that have defined his culture for generations, aimed at sharing the pride and history of the Cowichan people through contemporary and traditional mediums.
