Joshua Mangeshig Pawis-Steckley is an Anishinaabe artist from Wasauksing First Nation on the shores of Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada.
His vibrant and distinctive paintings often depict woodland animals, plants, and landscapes, rendered in bold lines and bright, contrasting colours. Mangeshig's artistic style is deeply rooted in the Woodland School of Art, a tradition known for its spiritual and cultural narratives. Through his work, he explores themes of identity, connection to the land, and the Anishinaabe worldview.
His art has gained recognition through exhibitions and collaborations, sharing his unique perspective and the beauty of his cultural heritage with a wider audience.
