Wayne Edenshaw is a Haida artist from the Masset community on Haida Gwaii, known for his expertise in wood and argillite carving as well as jewelry. Coming from a long lineage of master carvers, Wayne’s work is deeply grounded in the classical principles of Haida formline. His carvings often depict the powerful supernatural beings and oral histories of his ancestors, rendered with a sense of technical mastery and cultural integrity. Through his craft, Wayne continues the sophisticated artistic legacy of the Haida people, ensuring that their unique visual language and stories are carried forward with honour and precision.
