Mike Dangeli

Mike Dangeli is a renowned Nisga'a artist, carver, and singer from the Laxgalts’ap community. A master of mask-making and traditional protocols, Mike’s work is deeply integrated into the ceremonial life of the Northwest Coast. He is the leader of the Git Hayetsk (People of the Copper Shield) dance group, using performance and art together to share the stories of his ancestors. His carvings are celebrated for their power and technical precision, reflecting a lifelong commitment to preserving the sophisticated artistic and oral traditions of the Nisga'a, Tsimshian, and Tlingit people.
